HOW TO JOIN
Miami Springs Baptist Church

Many times visitors who are from other sections of the country or from other denominations would like to know how to

become a member of Miami Springs Baptist Church. The following suggestions are offered with

the prayer that they will be both helpful and informative .

If one has never belonged to any church:

Since Baptists believe that a church's membership should be composed of "believers" only, one should trust the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Acts 16:13 states, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." A believer is one who has trusted Christ for his salvation and has been "born" into the family of God (John 1:12-13). He believes that Christ saves him from sin's penalty, which is hell; that Christ delivers him from sin's power in daily living; and that Christ shall finally deliver him from sin's presence to "be forever with the Lord' in heaven (1 Thes 4:16-17). To "believe" means simply that one has committed his life to Christ and is trusting Christ to keep him for time and eternity. This belief may be experienced at any time but should be manifested during an invitational hymn when one walks to the front of the church to make a public profession of faith in Christ as your personal Savior (Matthew 10:32-33) At this time, one may also present himself for church membership by requesting baptism in obedience to Christ's command. This is called uniting with the church by baptism. The ordinance of baptism by immersion will be administered at a later date after proper instructions by the Pastor or Deacons. As one comes forward, he should be assured by the words of Jesus, "Him that cometh unto me I shall in no wise cast out." (John 6:37) One may desire only to trust Jesus as personal Savior and not come for baptism and church membership.
